National Botanic Gardens

The rich natural bio-diversity of Sri Lanka is wide and vastly distributed throughout all parts of the island. From wet-zone marsh, mangroves and rainforests to dry-zone plains of bush and arid landscapes, to thousands of botanical plant species, to the island’s vast botanical wealth can be seen. In addition, preserved ancient Ayurveda herbal and medicinal endemics to tropical flowering exotics and towering trees can be observed, studied and documented. These wonderful specimens have been creatively gathered and showcased within some of the island’s excellently landscaped botanical gardens that can take you on hours of awe-inspiring and interesting botanical expeditions.
